Hawaii's Most Enjoyable Tennis Courts

The Diamond Head Tennis Center is a 10-court complex situated on the slopes of the world famous Diamond Head monument. For over forty years, these tennis courts have attracted visitors both nationally and internationally, as well as providing a home court to many locals who are avid tennis players.

Over the years the courts and grounds were maintained and managed by the City. The courts were being resurfaced, nets and fences maintained, and the grounds kept neat and green. In recent years, especially during this economic downturn, the City has indicated they do not have enough money to continue to maintain the Diamond Head Tennis Courts. Since then, the facility has been slowly deteriorating. The tennis courts are in considerable disrepair with many deep cracks, and the grounds are not maintained as conscientiously as they could be.

The Friends of Diamond Head Tennis is a non-profit organization formed in 2009 solely to address these concerns as well as the ongoing maintenance of the Diamond Head Tennis Courts. We are supported by your generous donations and/or any service that you may be able to contribute. This is a not-for-profit organization, so therefore, any donation is 100% tax-deductible.

Over the past few years, some members of The Friends of Diamond Head Tennis association have gone to great lengths to help maintain the tennis courts and grounds. We have had volunteers painting our benches, painting walls, watering and trimming landscape, and collecting money for new windscreens, as well as other beautification projects within the park. However, the main priority for this organization is to resurface five of the courts, which for the last few years have seen a proliferation of cracks and bumps. Because this repair will take time and require a sizable outlay of funds, we are reaching out to visitors and local residents -- both tennis players as well as non-players -- to help attain our goal of repairing and maintaining what was once a world-class facility.
